Hi there!

So honored to make your acquaintance. I'm Laura Rose, and I'm a personal essayist, public speaker, mother, wife and marketer. I own my own brand consulting/web design/marketing firm and when I'm not busy with my clients and my beautiful baby girl, I use this platform of mine to tell you everything that's going on behind the scenes.

I've been writing since third grade, but I got way more into it when one of my professors in college asked me and my classmates to start our own personal blogs. I started writing about Yoga in the Boston area (where I was living at the time), and things really took off from there. Since then, I've been featured on several local talk shows and radio shows (I even had my own for a while on Houston's former News92FM) as a "millennial expert" and social media guru. I wouldn't say I'm an expert/guru when it comes to either, I just happen to be a millennial who's done some pretty stereotypical millennial things (starting my own business, working from home, cultivating a smartphone addiction...) I guess all of that makes me a pretty interesting source on the subject. I'm also still a home-renter, and I live in a pretty miraculous little bungalow with my attorney + business-owner husband. He recently ran for State Representative in our district in Houston, and while he fell short on votes, his spirited campaign was a true reflection of the passion we both share for making the world a better place. Through politics or otherwise, both of us work every day to brighten up our corner of the planet. Like my hero Oprah likes to say, "wherever you are, that is your platform."

I was born in New York City and moved to Houston when I was 13. I left again at 18 to attend college in Boston where I received a Journalism degree from Northeastern University and returned home afterward to cultivate my dreams in a city that continually surprises me. Thank goodness I ended up here because I'm pretty addicted to Whataburger Spicy Ketchup (fries are just the vehicle.)

Got questions for me? I'd love to hear from you. Click here to drop me a line anytime. I hope you enjoy Jewish Penicillin as much as I've enjoyed creating it.
